It's been over a month since I thought about where my running is up to. It's been another mixed month, but the positives have been good! So...
✅ I have been pretty good at the LSR, including a very nice 12 miles on the Isle of Wight, and a few others over 10 miles. I've been pleased with how these have felt, each time I know I could have done another mile or two. There was just one point in the Isle of Wight run where I wanted to stop, but I got through that.
✅ I have mixed up some of my shorter runs with intervals, including a 10 x 1min with rest in between, and a couple of fast full miles too (I managed my first sub 7 minute mile in ages!)
✅ Managed to go to Sheffield Business Runners once. It was a good run, a pretty easy 5k loop with a 1.5mile jog home afterwards. SBR do a Strength and Speed session which I will give a go some time but I'm not ready yet.
❌ Every now and again I just can't be bothered, and it sets me back more than the time I can't be bothered for. I think that makes sense. Like, last week I didn't run once. And I ate too much. So the weight I've lost over the last month will come back with avengance. It's that consistency thing again. I have good weeks, and bad weeks. But I'd like to get to a point where the bad weeks are when I only run twice, rather than I just don't move!
❌ I'm very aware my pace over distance is not good enough. I know I have enough time to sort this out, it's just each time I say this I'm closer to there NOT being time to sort it.
🎯 My aim this coming month is to work on that pace over distance. I'm going to start with some mixed stuff, like 5 miles total with three of the miles being below 7:30 minute miles, but a mile rest in between. That's it really!
